You might already know Profhilo, a world-class Hyaluronic Acid injectable treatment for the face. But what about the rest of your body? Relatively newly licensed in the UK, we are delighted to offer Profhilo Body, which brings the same HA base to the body – indeed it’s the only injectable specifically designed for treating skin laxity, scars and other blemishes on the rest of the body.
It’s the latest addition to our armoury of techniques, and of course our team is highly trained both in the use of Profhilo Body and in helping you make the right treatment selection. Unlike Botulinum, the Profhilo series work on skin rather than muscle. And unlike fillers, Profhilo doesn’t add volume to your skin. It’s no surprise, then, that it’s proving to be the ideal treatment for many body contexts as well as on the face. Profhilo is not just another dermal filler. It’s a unique skin remodelling treatment that works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, vital proteins responsible for the skin’s youthful elasticity and resilience. It harnesses the power of high-purity hyaluronic acid (HA) to improve skin tone, texture, and hydration. And after the success and track record of Profhilo, the same base treatment has now been licensed – as Profhilo Body – for a range of rest-of-body treatments.

THE PROCEDURE
For facial treatments, you have a wide range of options. On the rest of the body, it’s crucial that you have the benefit of professional advice – different treatments are licensed, tested and proven on different parts of the body. Profhilo Body is well tolerated and has wide applicability, but we will walk you through the options and ensure that Profhilo Body is right for you and your skincare ambitions.
The target area is cleaned. A topical anaesthetic might be applied, though due to the superficial nature of the injections, many patients find them quite tolerable without anaesthesia.
A series of tiny injections are made across the treatment area using very fine needles. These injections are shallow, targeting just beneath the skin’s surface.
How long your Profhilo body treatment will take depends on the areas being treated – both in terms of the complexity of application and how many areas you wish to improve. Please ask – we’ll be delighted to tell you how long it will take and how soon you can get back to your day-to-day routine at your consultation.
POST TREATMENT
Most patients can get back to their daily activities immediately after a Profhilo Body treatment. It’s non-surgical and minimally invasive, meaning very little downtime before you can get back to the things you love.
You may experience some temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites. These side effects are generally mild and rarely last more than a few days. The frequency and nature of these effects very much depends on the area being treated, so don’t hesitate to ask your practitioner for an honest and impartial opinion based on our ample experience with this treatment; plus tailored aftercare instructions. As always, if you need further help or advice, we’re never more than a phone call away.
With just two sessions spaced a month apart, you can observe significant skin hydration and rejuvenation. Occasionally (and this depends on your skin type), a third top up treatment may be recommended. The Profhilo solution continues to work under the skin for about a month after each treatment, stimulating your natural collagen and elastin production. Helpfully, this effect continues long after Profhilo has naturally degraded in your body, which extends its effectiveness. Generally, we invite you to have top-up sessions around once every six months – but again, this depends on which parts of the body have been treated and your chosen priorities.
As we saw above (see ‘aftercare’), you may experience some temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites. This is common to all injectable treatments, and we will be pleased to advise you further.
