Reduce your frown lines with a treatment at Dr Hanson’s clinic in London. Also referred to as frown lines botox, this non-surgical solution addresses signs of ageing between the eyebrows.
Frowning lines, often termed “glabellar lines” or “11 lines”, are the vertical wrinkles that appear between the eyebrows when we frown.
These lines can become more pronounced over time due to repeated facial expressions and the natural ageing process. Botulinum toxin is one of the most effective treatments for softening the appearance of these lines.
Botulinum toxin provides an effective and minimally invasive method to reduce the appearance of frowning lines.
What is Botulinum Toxin?
Botulinum toxin is a purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. When introduced in precise amounts into the body, it can temporarily block nerve signals to muscles, leading to a relaxation of the targeted muscle.
How Does Frown Lines Botox Work?
Frowning lines are primarily caused by the repeated contraction of two major facial muscles: the corrugator supercilii and the procerus. These muscles, situated between the eyebrows, cause the skin to crease and fold when we frown.
Administering botulinum toxin into these specific muscles blocks the nerve signals causing them to contract. As the muscles relax, the overlying skin appears smoother, significantly reducing the visibility of the frowning lines.
How Long Does Frown Line Botox Last?
Effects typically last 3-6 months, varying depending on factors like individual age, metabolism, and injection site.
How do I know Frown Lines Treatment is right for me?
“It’s more than just a procedure - it’s an art form.”

FROWN LINES BOTOX
An initial consultation with a qualified practitioner determines the suitability for treatment, expected outcomes, and addresses any queries or concerns.
The area between the eyebrows is cleaned. A topical anaesthetic might be applied to minimise discomfort, though many find the injections bearable without it.
Using a very fine needle, the practitioner introduces small amounts of botulinum toxin into targeted muscles between the eyebrows.
The process usually takes about 10-20 minutes.
POST-TREATMENT
After the procedure, patients can usually resume their daily activities immediately.
It’s recommended not to rub or massage the treated area for at least 2 hours. This prevents the toxin from spreading to adjacent muscles.
The softening of frowning lines is generally noticeable within 3-7 days following the treatment. The effects last between 3-4 months, after which the muscle activity gradually comes back, and the lines may reappear.
When administered by a trained professional, Botulinum Toxin Type A treatments are considered safe. Possible side effects are generally mild and temporary, including redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection site. More serious side effects are rare but can include drooping of the eyelids, headache, or flu-like symptoms.
